Birthdays

The importance of birthdays is acknowledged; however, birthday parties are not permitted during instructional time. Please ask your child’s teacher how he/she observes birthdays. Some parents choose to donate a book to the classroom or Broadway’s library in the child’s name. Party invitations are not to be distributed at school.

Back to School Night

This is a chance to meet your child’s teacher/s and ask questions. Teachers will give an overview of what to expect in the upcoming year.

Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Dia de los Muertos is an important celebration for the Latino community.  It is celebrated with a series of activities throughout the day.  Such activities include: Classroom altars a Communal altar, music, Ballet Folklorico dances, mariachi, teacher and student led lessons/arts and crafts and food tasting.  Students learn about the importance of Dia de los Muertos through these activities.

Chinese New Year Celebration

Chinese New Year is a very important event in the Chinese Culture. Broadway celebrates Chinese New Year by organizing a week-long series of lessons and activities including Chinese music, a professional lion dance, Chinese New Year stories, student presentations, calligraphy, food tasting and arts/crafts. Teachers and parents work together to plan and implement these activities. Students enjoy the celebration and learn about the Chinese culture through participation in the events.

Annual Spring Festival

The Annual Spring Festival is Friends of Broadway's biggest fundraising event of the year. It is an opportunity for the school community to come together in a family friendly environment to show our support for the school.

Beautification Day

Each fall and spring, Broadway families spend a fun Saturday morning cleaning, organizing, and beautifying the school.

Pajama Day

Come to school dressed in your pajamas!

Dr. Seuss’s Birthday

Come dressed as your favorite Dr. Seuss character as part of our week-long celebration of Dr. Seuss and his many wonderful books.

Family Learning Nights

Bring the whole family for a fun educational evening at school.

Multicultural Festival

This is a combined class performance with songs in different languages held in the assembly area and open to parents.

Open House

Come see what your child has learned! Each classroom will present examples of children’s work completed throughout the year.
